Drumming

L.I: To learn African drumming 

Johnny from Rhythm Interactive taught us four rhythms on the djembe. 

Johnny taught us by singing and clapping the rhythms for us to copy. One of the call and return tunes was "I like chocolate cake',' So do I". 

Johnny teaches a message to children. That message is that "together , we can make a change".

Maths | Times table |

L.I: Share equally into groups using our times table.
This week for maths I was learning how to solve 4x5 in groups and the opposite way of doing it and I was doing it in materials and the materials I was using was pop stackel sticks to solve the question and it was hard and when I was doing I needed help then we started it again to refresh my mind and it was getting easier but then I made my video and it was good and it was hard to explain the difference but it was good.

Hiwi the kiwi fishing for the future


L.I: To be responsible in the sea and when fishing.

We learned about legal fish size that means if you get a baby fish you have to put back in the sea the second thing we learned was a wet towel that's how we get the fish to sea and when we are grabbing them that is what we do so the fishes scales can come of the third thing we learned about was life jackets and safety and we had to wear life jackets so when we are in the sea we don't have to drown. The fourth thing we learned about was plastic if we don't put our rubbish in the bin we will not have fish for the future and if we put our rubbish in the bin we will have more fish. The fifth thing we were learning at hiwi the kiwi was sea birds and if we go near were a lot of sea birds are there are going to be fish but if we throw our hook they might get stuck on the hook and that might be bad then he taught us to get a squirt gun and squirt them away and lastly we have salt ice we put them on salt ice because they will taste nice then you can use fresh water and we learnt it by Minstrel and Miss Minstrel we did all that because we sang songs listened to them and did challenges also answered questions that was awesome.

Space | Rocket |

L.I: To understand what is needed for space exploration.
This week for inquiry I was learning how to make a rocket with are straw and with two fins and four fins that was hard because we had to make the fins with paper and that was also the hardest. Before we did this we watched a video to show us what is the first step to do and the first step was we had to fold the top of the straw then we had to test how far it will go then it when far but our prediction was the four fins then we tried the two fins then that went further than the first one was the one that was less  then we tried the four fins but it never when far but it was the second one then my prediction was wrong and that was what we did for inquiry.

Garbage landfill

L.I: To identify the structure of an information report.

Today for writing I was learning how to write information about littering and we learned it by watching this video to see what ideas we can get out of it and that was tricky but when I was done I was happy because all the slides I made with my group was hard until we got everything done then we put emojis because it was sad and because sea animals have died from eating plastic.

Tau | Seasons |

L.I: To learn the seasons on Te reo maori.

The word for seasons in maori is tau. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter also have their own words. We used the Te ara website to learn these words.

Maths | addition | Subtraction |

L.I: Simple subtraction on number line using the alternative/ (reversible) vocab and strategies.

Today for maths we were learning how to solve a subtraction equation by using addition before we learnt these were did eplanning of what we do because we were confused because we thought it was just the same but when we understood it that when it was easy then I made a video about subtraction but changed it to addition it was easy because it was like addition when I finished the video was great I got some mistakes wrong but I just go back and fix them and then I knew the easiest way and it was addition with subtraction.

Writing | Materials |

L.I: Identify materials in a procedural text and use learnt knowledge to write your own procedural text.

This week for writing we were learning about materials and before I made the slide we talked about materials and then we made the slides on the slide it is what I did for the materials and I tried my best to understand then I made a google draw of how to make a pancake and that was the hardest but it is still good and on the slide it shows.
